Description

Barretts Hall is a house dating from the 15th century or earlier, with alterations and additions from the 18th century. The house comprises a main block and a crosswing, with a later 18th-century range attached. The construction is timber-framed and plastered, with a red-tiled roof to the rear section and a jetty to the crosswing. The front section is faced with gault brick. The roof is covered in grey slate with projecting eaves. The main house is of three bays, with the central bay projecting forward and topped with a pediment. It has two storeys and a 1:1:1 window arrangement. The windows are small-paned vertically sliding sashes, set within gauged brick arches. Fluted columns support a flat canopy with a moulded frieze. The entrance has reveal panels to the door.
