Description
This is a wall along the street boundary of Number 15 (St. Andrews) and Number 15A (Feering Hill House) in Feering, measuring 42 metres from the east corner of the wall of Number 11 (The Vicarage) to the north-east. The wall dates from the 18th or 19th century and is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond. It features a vehicle gateway approximately 3 metres wide leading to Number 15, flanked by square brick piers with concrete caps. The wall ends at a similar pier on the south-west side of the gateway to Number 15A. There is also a blocked gateway about 1.5 metres wide in front of the original front door, with square piers of gauged brick on either side, fine mortar joints, and a moulded stone cap. The section to the north-east includes a blocked oculus and has been raised in the 20th century. The wall stands between 2 to 2.5 metres high. The part in front of Number 15 has a coping of moulded V-bricks, while the remainder features a plain brick coping.
