Description
Rose Cottage is an 18th-century cottage that has been extended in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with roughcast rendering and a thatched roof. The building consists of two bays aligned approximately north to south, with a near-central chimney stack on the west side. At the south end, there is a flat-roofed single-storey extension added in the 20th century. The cottage is single storey with attics and includes a four-panel door with glazed upper panels, two 20th-century casement windows, and one 19th-century casement window in a slated lean-to dormer. The roof is gambrel in style. Inside, there are chamfered axial beams, a wood-burning hearth facing south, a modern grate facing north, and some exposed framing. Roman numerals are inscribed on the wallplates. The current owners possess deeds dating back to 1703.
