Description

Oak Farmhouse is a mid-16th century house with later alterations. It is timber-framed and has a pargeted facade. The roof is hipped and covered with red plain tiles, with a central 16th-century red brick chimney stack. A wing extends to the rear. The main facade has two storeys and a three-window range of small-paned vertically sliding sashes. A 20th-century enclosed, flat-roofed porch sits centrally, and a six-panelled door provides entry. Originally jettied, the gabled west crosswing is now partly built over. The internal timber frame is largely intact, featuring jowled storey posts and a simple crown post roof.
