Description

Sheepcote Farmhouse is a mid to late 17th-century house, originally a farmhouse. It is timber-framed and plastered, with gabled peg tile roofs. The main block runs east to west and is two storeys high, with three gabled blocks projecting to the rear; the westernmost of these is a single storey with attics. Windows are 20th-century leaded light casements and casements with a single horizontal glazing bar. A central ridgeline stack has two diagonal shafts. The house has a conventional baffle entry plan form, simple straight-braced framing, and a double-sided inglenook fireplace. Inside, there is an early 19th-century corner cupboard featuring serpentine shelves and an ogee-like head.
