Description
Henny Cottage is a house dating from the late 14th century. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof that has a gable at the west end and a half-hipped gablet at the east. The cottage is one storey high with attics and features two eyebrow dormers on the front slope. There is a lean-to extension at the west end and a tall stack on the east end. The windows are 20th-century casements with leaded lights. Originally a small open hall house, it has a 16th-century inserted floor that is now partially removed. The structure has widely spaced studs, heavy arch bracing, and interrupted tie beams at both the high and low ends. One bay to the west is a later extension.
