Description
This building is a barn located 20 meters northwest of Schill's Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century. It is timber framed and primarily covered with weatherboarding, though some areas have corrugated metal cladding. The roof is made of corrugated iron. The barn consists of five bays aligned approximately northeast to southwest, featuring an original midstrey on the southeast side. There are 20th-century lean-to extensions that run the full length of the southeast side, which enclose the midstrey. The structure includes unjowled posts and a pegged main frame with primary straight bracing. Some bolted knees are present on the straight tiebeams, although some are missing. The roof is a clasped purlin design with intermediate collars at half-bay intervals and two additional collars in the middle bay. This barn is included for its group value with the nearby farmhouse.
