Description

The garden wall, dating from the 16th century, encloses the garden to the east of Rayne Hall and adjoins the churchyard. It was possibly built for Sir William or Sir Gyles Capell. The wall is constructed of red brick and features a plinth and moulded brick coping. On the eastern face, which faces the churchyard, there is a moulded brick doorway with a four-centred head and a moulded label above. This doorway is set between a raised and chamfered porchway, with a band and moulded coping above that includes a central carved stone face.
