Description
West Lodge is a lodge cottage dating from the 18th to 19th century, constructed of gault brick with a grey slate roof that is hipped to the left and has an outshot to the right. It features a dentilled eaves cornice and is a single storey building. The front has a 2:1 window arrangement of vertically sliding sashes with stone cills and gauged brick arches, while the right outshot is plain. There is a boarded door on the left return, also with a gauged brick arch. No chimney stack is visible from the road. Attached to the lodge are cast iron railings that curve towards the entrance gates. These railings are approximately 1 metre high and consist of double railings forming panels, with foliate stems and fleur de lis heads in the top panels, as well as a continual curvilinear base and top rails. The gate features finials of a similar design.
