Description

Locker's Hall is a house located on Southend Road in Billericay, originally built in the early 18th century and later extended in the late 18th to early 19th century. The building consists of two sections: a large three-storey square block on the east side, featuring a parapet with a dentilled cornice, and a two-storey wing to the west. The east front has two window ranges with two two-storeyed splayed bays; the bay at the north end is wider and projects slightly from the front on a small wing, with both bays adorned with dentilled cornices. The south front of the main block has a three-window range, with two windows on the second storey, while the west wing has a two-window range. The windows are three and four-pane double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The main block features a doorway on the south front with a half-glazed door, a moulded architrave, and a pediment supported by cut console brackets. The west wing includes lean-to additions on the ground storey. The roof is tiled and hipped on the main block. Inside, the house contains 18th-century panelling, doors, window shutters, a staircase, and panelled ceilings. The garden to the south is enclosed by a wall, and on the west side, a gateway is flanked by piers topped with ball finials.
