Description

This description is for a pair of K6 telephone kiosks designed by Giles Gilbert Scott in 1935. The kiosks are made of cast iron and are painted red overall. They feature long horizontal glazing in the doors and sides, with crowns applied to the top panels rather than being perforated. There are rectangular white display signs that read "TELEPHONE" beneath the shallow-curved roof. The internal equipment has been modernised. Nearby, there are four listed buildings: numbers 137 and 139 High Street to the north-west, the library at 143 on the opposite side of the High Street to the west, and The White Hart public house to the south.
