Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was formerly used as a rectory, built between 1830 and 1831. It is constructed of gault brick with Ketton stone dressings and features hipped slate roofs with parapets. The building has a double pile plan with services and offices located at the rear. It stands two storeys tall with an attic and has its principal front facing the garden. The façade consists of four bays, including two slightly projecting and pedimented centre bays. The windows are recessed hung sashes set in flat gauged brick arches. Access is provided through a later porch on the side, which has plain piers made of Ketton stone and similar gault brick walls. Inside, the house retains an original open string cantilevered staircase and one original white marble fireplace.
