Description

The Steeple Morden War Memorial is a Grade II listed structure made of Ketton stone with flint panels. It features a small medieval cross atop a tapering octagonal shaft. This shaft is set on a polygonal plinth, which is elevated on a polygonal base adorned with flint panels.

The memorial includes inscriptions carved in relief that read: "STEEPLE MORDEN/ IN HONOUR OF THOSE/ WHO FOUGHT & IN/ MEMORY OF THOSE/ WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR/ 1914 – 1919." On either side of this main inscription, there are panels headed by the word "FALLEN," which list the names of those who died.
