Description

This is a cottage dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is timber-framed and has been plastered, with decorative pargetted panels. The roof is tiled. The building is square in plan, originally with three units, and has been extended to the rear to accommodate a staircase. It features a ridge stack located to the right of the centre and an end stack on the left. The main entrance is on the left, with a six-panelled door. There are three 20th-century casement windows, and two 20th-century window replacements set within gabled dormers. Inside, the timber-frame is exposed, and there are chamfered ceiling beams. The north-east room contains a hearth with a segmental brick arch and an opening for a former baking oven, along with two 19th-century chimney pieces.
