Description

This is a house dating from around 1800. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a rear outshut built of gault brick. The roof is covered in plain tiles, with brick stacks at the ends and rear of the building. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window front. The first floor has a central six-over-six sash window, flanked by casements with Gothic-arched top lights. Similar casements are found on the ground floor, with a central door within an open porch. The gable ends are blank. A two-storey rear outshut has two horizontal sliding sash windows on the first floor and casements below, as well as a further door. A small single-storey lean-to extends from the side. The interior has not been inspected. The house is a little-altered example of its period, notable for its unusual front casements. It’s marked on an enclosure map of 1811.
