Description

No. 27 High Street is a cottage that originated in the 17th century but is mainly from the 18th century. It is constructed of local gault brick, with late 17th-century red brick on the right-hand gable end. The cottage features a plain tiled mansard roof, which has a ridge stack made of red and yellow gault brick. The layout consists of a single range with a lobby entry and a three-room plan. There are three dormers on the roof, and the windows have segmental header arches. Two of the windows are 19th-century four-pane hung sashes. The doorway is located opposite the stack.
