Description
Clare College Farmhouse is a house that dates from the early 18th century, with alterations from the early 19th century and a front block added in the late 19th century. It features a mix of red, yellow, and grey brick, with tiled roofs and slate, and a small rebuilt ridge stack. The original 18th-century section, which is now at the rear, has a lobby entry and a brick principal doorway in the late 19th-century front range. The two-storey 18th-century part includes three 19th-century six-light sash windows on the first floor, a 19th-century canted bay, and a twelve-pane hung sash window on the ground floor. The lobby entry has an 18th-century door and doorcase with a shaped frieze. A portion of this range was rebuilt in the early 19th century using yellow brick and tiles. Inside, there is a blocked inglenook fireplace.
