Description

TL 4148 FOXTON HIGH STREET (East side) 19/68 Nos. 73 and 75 GV II

Cottdge, now two dwellings. c.1620 for Richard Allen, extended by one bay at north end. Timber framed, plaster rendered and long straw thatch. Red brick ridge stack of diagonally set grouped shafts on square base. One storey and attic. Two dormers. Two, three-light casements and two doorways. No. 73 has thatched porch, modern. The interior of No. 75 was inspected. Original framing visible but the ceiling has been replaced. Downward wall bracing and Jowled posts. Inglenook hearth.
