Description
The garden sculpture located to the north-east of Duxford Mill is a memorial created by H White from London and Cambridge in 1869 for Julia de Freville. Originally placed within a mausoleum at Hinxton Hall in Cambridgeshire, it now serves as a garden ornament. The sculpture is made of Portland limestone and features two winged, seated angels holding hands, with one angel holding a trumpet. There are two medallions that act as 'bench ends'; one displays a relief sculpture of a head, while the other features a family shield of arms. An incised memorial inscription is present on the plinth.
