Description
Old Laceys is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the late 16th century. It features a dated plaster plaque on the street elevation that reads 'W. 1683 A'. The building is timber-framed and plastered, topped with a plain tiled roof that has a hipped section with a gablet to the west. There is a ridge stack on the left side of the building.
The house has two storeys and an attic. The main entrance has been blocked and replaced with a 20th-century casement window. There are two horizontal sliding sash windows and two additional casement windows with glazing bars on the ground floor. On the first floor, there are three windows and one casement dormer window. The dated plaque is lozenge-shaped and features corner rosettes and two thistle heads, similar to those found in Ickleton and Chishill, Cambridgeshire.
Inside, the room to the west has stop-chamfered ceiling beams and substantial joists.
