Description

Four Winds, also known as Oakley Soils Limited, is a tower windmill built in 1863, as indicated by the Roman numerals above the entrance. The structure is made of gault brick and features segmental arches over the windows, which have glazing bars. The original entrance has a 20th-century boarded door. The interior has been rebuilt for use as offices, and the roof has been capped. The mill was constructed by Uriah Thomas Bolton, who also made additions to the nearby Hildersham water mill. The property deeds are in private ownership.
