Description
Cattell's Mill is a smock windmill built in 1828. It features a timber frame that is horizontally weather-boarded on an octagonal brick base, which is tarred at the ground stage. The mill has four stages, topped with a canvas-covered ogee capping that includes a ball finial. Above the doorway at the ground stage, there is an inscription that reads "William Huckle 1828." The mill retains two sails with shutters, a fantail, and a gallery. Inside, the machinery is complete, featuring a timber brake wheel, belt-driven elevators, an oat crusher, and a grain cleaner, along with three pairs of stones.
