Description
High House is a house dating from the early 19th century, with a restoration in the mid-20th century. It has a timber frame that is rendered, standing on a plinth, and features a tiled, half-hipped and mansard roof with a grey gault brick ridge stack. The house has a lobby entry and a two-bay plan that is oriented end to the road. It is two storeys high with an attic. The first floor has three mid-20th century casement windows. There is a 20th-century gabled porch at the doorway leading to the lobby entry. Additionally, there is a small wing facing the road, which is either 18th or 19th century, also framed, rendered, and tiled, consisting of one bay and one storey with an attic. Inside, the slender timber framing is exposed, featuring straight bracing, and there are early 19th-century hearths.
