Description

The Moorings is a late 18th or early 19th century timber-framed cottage, built on a brick sill. The walls are roughcast rendered and the roof is red pantiled with a steep pitch. The property has an end stack and a T-plan layout. It is a single storey with an attic, featuring two gable dormers. There are two, three-light casement windows on either side of the front doorway. A small 19th-century addition, constructed of clay lump, is present on the side wall. Internally, the cottage features clunch inglenook hearths, repaired and stop-chamfered main beams with run-out stops. The building was formerly used as a beer house and builders’ premises.
