Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It features a hall and southeast cross-wing plan, though it has undergone numerous additions and alterations, all from the 19th century. The original structure was timber-framed, but only the cross-wing remains, while the hall range was rebuilt in the 19th century using brick and is rendered with a tiled roof. There is a ridge stack made of white brick, likely rebuilt where the original stack stood, along with an end stack. The cross-wing retains its timber framing and is also rendered, featuring some incised pargetting from the 20th century on the gable end. One end and part of one side wall are cased in grey brick. The roof is hipped at one end and covered with tiles. The farmhouse has two storeys, with the main entrance located on the garden side of the hall range, which also includes an eaves dormer. The opposite side has two canted bays. The interior was not observed. The farmhouse is situated on a former moated site.
