Description

King Smith Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century with mid-20th century alterations. It has a timber frame that is cased in brick and rendered. The cottage features a steeply pitched tiled roof supported by original rafters, with a ridge stack and a mid-20th century end stack. It is one storey with attics and includes three mid-20th century gable dormers. The three windows and the doorway, now located in an added rear wing, are also mid-20th century, while the lobby entry doorway has been blocked. Inside, the front and wall framing is exposed, along with the remaining original rafters, and the ceilings have mid-20th century joists.
