Description
No. 65 High Street is a house dating from the late 17th century and early 18th century. It features a timber-framed and plaster-rendered original range on the left side, with a red brick extension on the right. The building has thatched roofs and is designed in an L-plan, with one storey and attic on the left and two storeys on the right. Notable architectural features include a tumbled, corbelled parapet gable and an end stack on the right side, as well as a two-course sawtooth brick eaves cornice and a brick band between the floors. The left side has a boarded door and two small windows, along with one casement dormer window and one small attic light. The right side has a twelve-paned hung window with a flush frame in a flat brick arch at each floor level. Inside, there are two original hearths and an early 18th-century door.
