Description
There are three chest tombs made of limestone located about ten metres to the south-west of the tower of St Lawrence's parish church. These tombs date from the late 18th century and early 19th century.
From north to south, the first tomb features four ashlar panels with fluted quoins, set on a moulded plinth with a moulded edge to the cover. It is inscribed to Thomas George, who died in 1771, and to members of his family. The second tomb is similar to the first but has shaped quoins and is inscribed to Thomas George, who died in 1802, along with other family members. The third tomb also resembles the first and includes an inscription on one panel dedicated to William George, who died in 1806.
