Description

Scott's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the late 19th century, and it incorporates part of an earlier building. The structure is built from coursed limestone and limestone rubble, with sections of 19th-century yellow brick. The roofs are covered with old plain tiles and some 20th-century tiles. The farmhouse has two storeys with attics, and the original building is represented by the chimney stack to the north, which includes a partly demolished baking oven.

To the east, there is a 17th-century range with a 19th-century addition and an internal stack to the west, creating a double pile plan. The east facade features three bays with a central doorway. The doorway has a four-panelled 19th-century door, flanked by two replacement 20th-century canted bay windows. On the first floor, there are three recessed sixteen-paned hung sash windows, each with chamfered and jewel-stopped wooden lintels.

Inside, the plan of the east range was altered in the 19th century to create a staircase hall, and most interior details are also from the 19th century, including an open string stair. The kitchen hearth has been relined and sealed, while the first floor features a hearth with a timber-framed opening.
