Description
No 9 Church Green is an early to mid 19th-century estate cottage. It stands two storeys high with a projecting gable on the east side. The rear walls are made of yellow brick, while the facade features red brick with yellow brick detailing. The east gable has moulded brick copings and a dentil brick eaves cornice. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has patterned ridge tiles, along with two stacks that have tall diagonal shafts.
On the first floor, there are two 2-light casement windows with geometric patterned glazing bars. The ground floor has two splayed bay windows, also with similar casements and glazing bars. The cottage has a closed porch with stone copings and a finial on the gable. The entrance features a recessed, half-glazed and panelled door set within a 4-centred arch. This building is noted for its prominent position on the green.
