Description

This is a seventeenth-century cottage located on the south side of High Street, Hemingford Grey. It is a three-unit building constructed with a timber frame that has been covered with colour-washed brick. The roof is thatched, with a ridge stack. A dentil eaves cornice runs along the roofline. The cottage has two dormer windows with horizontal sliding sash windows and glazing bars. At ground floor level, there are three horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars. A plank door provides access to the interior. Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams with run-out stops and a large inglenook hearth. Attached to the left-hand side is a single-storey barn constructed of brick and covered with pantiles.
