Description

Vicarage Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1620, located on a moated site. The building has a plan of three bays and a lobby entry with a wing at the rear. It is timber framed and roughcast rendered, with soft red brick on part of the west wall. The roof is plain tiled and features an original ridge stack with grouped shafts. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four flush wood frame windows on the first floor, with the entry located opposite the stack. The gabled wing to the east is also timber framed and roughcast rendered, likely serving as a stair turret. There is a modern addition to the north. Inside, the ground floor rooms feature intersecting main beams with double cyma moulding and two abutting sealed inglenooks. There is also a reset 17th-century staircase in the south ground floor room, which has a closed string, square newel posts, and moulded rails.
