Description

Two tombstones are located approximately 14 metres south of the west tower of St Remigius Church in Water Newton. These tombstones are made of limestone slabs with segmental heads and feature inscriptions on cartouches that are adorned with fruit and flowers. The left tombstone has a central coronet and two angel heads, and it is inscribed with the names 'Thomas and Mary, son and daughter of Bryan and Mary Morris, died 1732 and 17--'. The right tombstone displays a central angel head flanked by rosettes, inscribed to Bryan Morris, who died in 1817.
