Description
Carlton House is a cottage built in 1677, which has been renovated. The front features exposed timber-frame construction with rendered infill and a plain tiled roof. It has an internal stack located on the east side of the ridge, with gault brickwork on the upper courses. The building consists of five bays and is one storey high with an attic, featuring two gable dormers. The middle rail is jointed to the main posts with short upward bracing, similar to the barn at Nos. 65 and 67. On the ground floor, there are two small pane casements in enlarged openings on either side of the doorway. Originally, there was a pedimented doorcase displaying the date 1677 and the initials RME.
