Description

No. 23 Broadway is a former double fronted house dating from the early 19th century. It stands two storeys tall, with attics, and is constructed from gault brick. The building features a tiled mansard roof and has a brick band between the storeys and below the parapet. There are three windows with glazing bars and segmental arches. The original wooden doorcase has reeded pilasters that support a small cornice, and there is an ornamental fanlight that has been blocked off. This property is part of a group that includes No. 1, 7 to 13 (odd), No. 17, and Nos. 21 to 39 (odd), along with the shop adjoining No. 1.
