Description

This is a late 16th or early 17th century cottage, with later additions. The house is positioned with its gable end facing the road. It is timber-framed and has a plaster render exterior. The lower parts of the walls are built with rubble stone and brick. It has a plain tiled, gable roof, and a red brick ridge stack with a recessed panel at its base. The main part of the house is one storey high with attics, featuring two dormers with elliptical tops. A small casement window is located above the entry, opposite the stack. A 18th century panelled door provides access. Inside, the main beam has a moulded pad. At the rear of the house, to the right, are two linked gabled wings dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. These wings are built of red brick and have plain tiled roofs. Wrought iron lettering reading "G.E." is fixed to the gable ends of these wings. One elliptical window is present, and has been sealed. A 19th century wing built of gault brick is located at the rear of the house, on the left hand side.
