Description

Lodes Cottage is an early 17th century cottage featuring five bays and a gable end facing the road. It is timber-framed with a corrugated iron roof, which was originally thatched, and has a half-hipped design towards the road. The cottage includes a red brick ridge stack that is rendered. It has one storey and attics, with two gabled dormers; one dormer has a horizontal sliding sash window, while the other has a hung sash window set in a semi-circular headed arch. There are three windows on the ground floor and two later doorways, with the original entry located opposite the stack.
