Description

Holywell House is a mid-19th century house situated in Holywell-cum-Needingworth. The house is arranged in an L-shape, extending over two main floors with attic and cellar levels. The exterior walls are rendered, topped by a low-pitched slate roof and featuring three internal chimney stacks. A modillioned eaves cornice runs around the building. The prominent central feature is a two-storey, semi-circular bay window with hung sash windows featuring central glazing bars and side lights. Matching hung sash windows, set within cambered arches, flank the bay window on both sides and at both floors. A closed, flat-roofed porch is positioned to one side, displaying a moulded cornice, plain Doric pilasters, an entablature and a central double panelled door. Inside, a notable feature is a fine spiral staircase.
