Description
The buildings at 1 and 3 Crown Street date to the earlier 19th century and were originally built around 1820. They are three storeys high, each featuring a single window. The roofs are slate-covered with projecting eaves. The facades are constructed of yellow stock brick with gauged flat brick arches over recessed sash windows, which retain their original glazing bars. Number 1 has a wooden shop front with an entablature supported by consoles; the front has modern shop windows and doorways. Numbers 1 to 17 (odd), numbers 21 and 23 form a group with numbers 2 to 6 (even), numbers 12, 14, 16 and numbers 20 to 32 (even) on Broadway.
