Description
No. 16 Bridge Street is a mid-18th century building that stands three storeys tall. It is constructed of gault brick, featuring red brick heads above the windows, a red brick band at the second floor level, and a moulded and dentilled red brick cornice beneath the parapet. The building has two windows, which are adorned with gauged flat brick arches and recessed sashes that retain their original glazing bars. The early 19th century wooden shop front includes pilasters that support an entablature, along with a projecting splayed shop front that has a wooden shop window. The doorways for the house and shop are square-headed, complete with fanlights and panelled doors. This property is part of a group that includes Nos. 6 to 28 (even).
