Description

The Grange is a vernacular revival house built around 1906 for the Ashley-Coopers, designed by Reverend Oliphant of Houghton. The house has a complex plan with one storey and an attic, and is jettied to the left. It is constructed of rendered brick with red brick details to the ground floor casement windows. It has a hipped thatched roof and an open porch, with three dormer windows containing casements. Reverend F J Kingsley-Backenbury-Oliphant, Rector of Houghton from 1901 to 1930, is associated with the property (documented in the Huntingdon Record Office).
