Description

Whitehall is a late 17th-century house situated in Common Lane at Hemingford Abbots. It is a two-storey building with attics, arranged in an L-shape. The house is constructed of colour-washed brick with an old plain tile roof, incorporating shaped parapet gables. It has three red brick end stacks, each with pairs of separate shafts and common entablatures. The windows are leaded-light casements, present on both floor levels. Applied imitation timber-framing is visible on the rough-cast wall at the first floor. Inside, the main ceiling beams feature decorated chamfer stops, and original open hearths remain.
