Description

Nos. 5 and 7 on High Street are originally two 16th-century timber-framed buildings that were separated by a passageway but were joined by a common facade in the late 18th century. The buildings are two storeys high with attics and are roughcast rendered, topped with steeply pitched plain tile roofs. There is a rendered stone stack with a brick capping located at the south-east. The eaves feature a wooden coved cornice. On the first floor, there are two horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars, and there are two similar windows on the ground floor. The entrance includes two six-panelled doors. At the rear of No. 7, there is a timber-framed wing. Inside No. 5, there is a large stone inglenook hearth.
