Description

The Old Forge is a late 17th century timber-framed and plastered cottage that was originally a blacksmith's shop. It may have originally had a three-unit plan, but the northern bay has been demolished, revealing an inglenook hearth. The cottage features a pantiled roof with two dormer windows and a half-glazed door that has a pantiled hood. The foundations are made of painted brick. Inside, there is an inglenook hearth with an opening to a baking oven, as well as exposed ceiling beams.
