YELLING HIGH STREET (North Side) The Old Rectory

Early C18 red brick, double pile house of five bays with an early-mid C19 gault brick wing to norht-west. Two storeys with attics. Original C18 house has hipped plain tile roofs with two ridge stacks, three gabled dormer windows with hung sashes and glazing bars. Deeply moulded wooden cornice. Brick band between floors and brick plinth. Five recessed, C19, hung sash windows with glazing bars in gauged brick arches at both floor levels. Side entrance facing south-east is altered. C19 wing, projecting slightly has a shallow, hipped slate roof. Three first floor recessed hung sash windows with glazing bars in cambered gauged brick arches, and two similar but larger ground floor windows to north-west of main entrance and deeply moulded panelled door. Continuous moulded stone architrave with rounded head and fanlight, key block and impost blocks.
