Description
The Old Rectory is an early 18th century red brick double pile house featuring five bays, with an early to mid-19th century gault brick wing to the north-west. The building stands two storeys high with attics. The original 18th century house has hipped plain tile roofs, two ridge stacks, and three gabled dormer windows that have hung sashes and glazing bars. It also features a deeply moulded wooden cornice, a brick band between the floors, and a brick plinth. There are five recessed 19th century hung sash windows with glazing bars set in gauged brick arches on both floor levels. The side entrance facing south-east has been altered. The 19th century wing, which projects slightly, has a shallow hipped slate roof and three recessed hung sash windows with glazing bars in cambered gauged brick arches on the first floor, along with two larger similar ground floor windows to the north-west of the main entrance. The entrance features a deeply moulded panelled door with a continuous moulded stone architrave that has a rounded head, a fanlight, key block, and impost blocks.
