Description
The barn to the north of North Farmhouse, dated 1844, was built shortly after the Enclosure of 1843. It is constructed from local red brick and features a slate roof. The barn has two double entries facing the yard, which are topped with elliptical arches. The original doors include 'lifts' that are slotted into the door jambs below the doors. There are geometric patterned ventilation holes present as well. Inside, the barn has two threshing floors, and the roof consists of six bays supported by brick buttresses, with side purlins and Queen struts. Attached to the barn to the north-east and south-west are two ranges of stables and a granary.
