Description
Brook House Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building originally constructed in the 17th century. It features a three-unit plan, is timber framed and plastered, and has a plain tile roof with a large brick stack on the west gable wall. A mid-19th century two-storey addition made of gault brick extends to the north and includes two projecting wings, also with plain tile roofs. The western wing was used as a dairy and has a small cellar with a beer stall.
The north-facing facade showcases four first-floor hung sash windows with glazing bars set in cambered gauged brick arches, along with two ground-floor hung sash windows in the wings. Small sash windows flank a plain plastered brick portico that leads to a four-panelled door topped with a rectangular fanlight. Inside, there is a large inglenook hearth in the kitchen.
