Description
The Church of St Bartholomew, formerly known as Yaxley United Reformed Church, is a nonconformist chapel built in 1812. It is constructed from yellow gault brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate hipped roof. The main front has three bays, with a central round-headed doorway that has a Doric pilaster door surround, complete with ashlar capitals and bases, and an ashlar keystone. The doorway is fitted with double plank doors and a glazed fanlight. On either side of the doorway are single round-headed windows with metal glazing bars. Above the doorway is a central blank round-headed panel, flanked by two small plaques inscribed "ERECTED 18" and "BY VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION." The side elevation features three similar round-headed windows below and three blank panels above. The interior has not been inspected.
