Description
The Church of All Saints is a parish church that dates back to the 12th century but was largely rebuilt between around 1450 and 1470. It features a chancel, nave, and surrounding aisles with perpendicular four-bay arcades, which are highlighted by decorated brackets against the piers. The south aisle has a late 13th-century five-light, traceried east window flanked by niches, along with a fine Early English double piscina that has a dog-tooth surround nearby. There are north and south porches, as well as an elaborate west doorway with flanking niches. Inside, the tower has a high arch and a tierceron-star vault. The church also boasts a fine broach steeple set behind a battlemented parapet with corner pinnacles, a Norman font, and an Elizabethan pulpit. An organ from 1893 and statues on the arcade brackets by Comper are also present. The Church of All Saints, along with Barnes House and The Nook, forms a group.
