Description

This is a late 18th-century house, originally the Red Lion Inn, situated on the Great North Road in Alconbury. The building has a symmetrical facade of two storeys with attics, and a rear outshut. It is constructed of local red brick with a plain tile roof, featuring end stacks with parapet gables, sawtooth brick eaves, and a cornice. The roof has three modern casement dormer windows. The first floor has three hung sash windows with glazing bars, and the front has two canted, flat-roofed bay windows with hung sashes and glazing bars. An architraved doorway is present, with dentil enrichment to the cornice above, and a panelled door.
